Christmas Presents - Beauty and Candles

I am SO late putting this post up! Christmas seems so long ago now, I hope you all had a fabulous one.  I was happy to see the back of 2013, it was a stressful year and so far 2014 is shaping up to be a good year. This post was ready to go a couple of weeks ago but a BT engineer was working at my neighbours house and managed to cut off both our phone line and internet.  I was surprised at how often I use the internet, it was so frustrating not being able to just "Google" something!

Anyway, I loved reading posts showing what lovely goodies you all got for Christmas and I hope you enjoy reading mine.
Dollish Polish Welcome to Camp Crystal Lake
Polish Addict Unicorn Love
Liquid Sky Lacquer Fuchsia Illusion (Thermal Polish)

My hubby Jon got me these polishes from Rainbow Connection, a UK stockist of international indie brands.
My best friend, Vicki, got me these.
China Glaze Cosmic Dust and Strap on Your Moonboots.
Jon got me these crystal Leighton Denny nail files, a large one to keep at home and a smaller one with a case to keep in my handbag.
Every year Jon gets me the Soap & Glory set when Boots have their weekly offer on.  Every time I smell Soap & Glory it reminds me of Christmas. So many fab goodies in this years gift set!

Hand Food Hand Cream
Sugar Crush Body Wash (the Sugar Crush Scrub gave me cravings for key lime pie when I was pregnant!)
Righteous Butter Body Butter
Peaches & Clean Deep Purifying Cleanser
Heel Genius Foot Cream
Butter Yourself Body Lotion
The Scrub of Your Life Body Buffer
Thick & Fast Super Volume Mascara
Sexy Mother Pucker Lip Plumper
Limited Edition Jonathan Saunders Bag
My Dad and Stepmum got me these Bayliss & Harding Hand Wash and Hand Lotion duo.  They come in a stand which is quite handy to put next to the sink in the bathroom.  They smell lovely!
I suffer with a lot of joint pain and muscle stiffness so Jon was very thoughtful and bought me this massager and oil (although I think he was just trying to get out of having to give massages!).  I have tried it on my back and it definitely helps get out any knots!
I am a big fan of Caudalie products and Jon got me this soap, it smells lovely and fresh.

Sandra from Beauty Balm got me this soap from Planet Soap, it smells absolutely amazing! When I put her present under the tree I kept getting a lovely scent coming from it everytime I walked past!
I was very spoilt by my hubby this year!
Nars At First Sight Palette
Dior Addict Lip Glow (I love this!)
Nars Guy Bourdin Fling

Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Dolce Vita
Velvet Gloss Lip Pencil in Baroque
Lippy in Roman Holiday
Lippy in Damage

The lip case is fab! Its bigger than I thought it would be, I have put it on my bedside table to put my jewellery in at night.
Rosslyn Candle Company sadly announced on Facebook that they were closing down their shop.  I have one of their teacups with the bluebell wood candle in and Jon got me this lovely hamper which contains a selection of their best selling candles.
Salted Caramel candle! Yes it does smell as delicious as it sounds!

Sandra got me this handcream too, I have been very spoilt!
We had a Secret Santa swap on one of the beauty pages and Grace from All That Slap got me these gorgeous gifts.
I know its not technically a beauty item but Jon got me this notebook for me to write my blog post ideas etc in.

Leave me a link if you did a post like this, I love seeing what people got and it's inspiration for gifts throughout the year!

Nails Inc Brewer Street and Dollish Polish A Unicorn Farted In My Polish

When I saw that Dollish Polish had released a Unicorn named polish I just had to have it, I love anything Unicorn related!
Nails Inc Brewer Street
Dollish Polish A Unicorn Farted in my Polish
Brewer Street is a hard colour to describe! I would say it is a pastel lime green.

I'm normally a huge fan of Nails Inc polishes but I found the consistency of this quite thick and hard to apply.  The polish had separated in the bottle so this may be why.  This is two coats over Sally Hansen Insta-Grip base coat.
Wow just look how pretty this polish is!

Described on the Dollish Polish website:
Little known fact: Unicorns fart rainbows. It's true! And as he was flying over the Dollish Polish shop, he "deposited" a little gift inside each an every bottle! This glitterbomb consists of every color in the rainbow! Glitters ranging from small to large, in stars, moons, squares, dots, hexagons, rectangles and more! This really is one magical polish!
Two coats of Unicorn with a top coat of Seche Vite in artificial light.
In natural light.

I love, love, love this polish! I will be getting it in full size when I next place a Dollish order.

You can buy the mini for $5.00 and the full size for $10.00 here.

Nails Inc Englands Lane and Dollish Polish Crystal Empire

I love, love, love this polish combination!
Dollish Polish Crystal Empire
Nails Inc Englands Lane
One coat of Nails Inc Englands Lane
Consistency was perfect as with all Nails Inc polishes I have tried, fast drying time and dries lovely and glossy.  There is no topcoat in the pic above.
This has to be the one of the most amazing polishes I own!

It is part of the Cartoon collection and inspired by My Little Pony -
The Crystal Empire, a mystical kingdom that mysteriously vanished years ago and now has returned and in need protecting!

This magical polish is chunk full of Stars, Moons circle & square glitters in shades of Pink, Purple, Fuchsia, Turquoise, and White all in a clear base.
This is one coat of Crystal Empire in artificial light
This is one coat of Crystal Empire in artificial light with a topcoat of Seche Vite
This was taken in natural light
As you can see my mani perfectly matched my drink in the sunshine!

What do you think? Love it as much as I do?

Maybelline Color Show Coral Craze and Dollish Polish Have a Berry Good Day

I love a coral nail when the sun is shining, I picked the Maybelline up from Boots a few weeks ago and the Dollish Polish was from the order I received last month.
Maybelline Color Show in Coral Craze
Dollish Polish Have a Berry Good Day
One coat of Coral Craze, it is nearly opaque in one coat but I could still slightly see the nail line so I put a second coat on.
Two coats - it is fully opaque in two coats.  The consistency of the polish is good and the colour dries nice and glossy, however I really didn't like the brush it feels very thin and soft so didn't give much control when applying the polish.  I had to really take my time when applying the polish so that I didn't get it everywhere!

This is the first polish I have from the Color Show range so I don't know if all the brushes are like this or if I got a dodgy one!

They retail for £2.99 at Boots.
Have a Berry Good Day is from the Cartoon Series and is inspired by Strawberry Shortcake.

This shade boasts an endless sea of pink & green glitters, varying in shapes, sizes, and shades all in a clear base riddled with pink color-shifting flakies!
This is one coat of Have a Berry Good Day with Seche Vite topcoat.

The polish is packed full of glitter so it was very easy to apply and I didn't have to fish for glitter or dab it on.
I purchased the mini of this polish which retails at $5.00 here.

Have you tried any of the Maybelline Color Show polishes?  Do you agree about the brush or did I get a dodgy one?!

Dollish Polish Care Bear Stare and China Glaze Dance Baby Swatches

Another nail post for you today, Dollish Polish Care Bear Stare and China Glaze Dance Baby.
One coat of Dance Baby from the Electropop collection, it is a gorgeous bubblegum pink colour.
It is fully opaque in two coats.  I love pink nail polishes and this is a full on girlie pink!

Application is good as with all China Glaze polishes that I have tried, drying time is quick too and the polish dries nice and glossy.

Dance Baby retails for £4.95 here.
Care Bear Stare is from the Cartoon Collection, it is described as

Care Bears, prepare to stare! This darling glitterbomb was inspired by the Care Bears, and is exploding with pastel glitters in pink, blue, aqua, and purple, in all shapes from hex's to square, butterflies and stars, all in a clear base with varying iridescent glitters.

It retails for $10.00 for a full size bottle and $5.00 for a mini.  I got this in the mini size.
I found I had to fish a bit for the bigger pieces of glitter and I don't think the pink base shows off the polish enough so next time I will try it over a different base - I'm thinking maybe white or a dark purple!

Have you tried this polish?  Any recommendations for what base colour would show this off?

Dollish Polish Purple Nurples Swatches and Review

I placed my very first order with Dollish Polish on 23rd May and they arrived safely with me in the UK on Friday.  Shipping is fast and very reasonably priced.  The polishes come well wrapped in bubble wrap and in hot pink bags which is a lovely touch!
I picked Purple Nurples to try first.
This is from the Cartoon Series and inspired by Cartoon Networks' Chowder.
This is the description of the polish from Dollish's site.

Neon purple jelly has tons of glitters, ranging from hexagons, squares, and circles, all in varying shades of periwinkle, purples, pinks, magenta, and blue/green iridescent glitters.
This is three coats, picture taken inside.
These pictures taken outside were taken today, three days after applying the polish.
As you can see the polishes is packed full of glitters!
The polish was easy to apply, I didn't have to go fishing for the larger pieces of glitter either.

I really like this polish.  The colour is gorgeous!

I can't wait to try out the rest of the polishes from my order!

Have you tried anything from Dollish Polish?
