I wanted to share with you a little review on the Konjac puff sponge that I have been using for the past couple of weeks. I saw these weird little sponges advertised on the internet and after reading a few reviews I was really intrigued, so I purchased the French Pink Clay sponge which is ideal for sensitive skin from Beauty Naturals for £6 and free delivery.
Konjac is a moisture rich plant fibre that is reputed for its health giving properties and has been used by the Japanese for over 1,500 years having originally started out as a medicine in the sixth century.
They come with different clay infusions, I picked the pink clay as I have quite sensitive skin.
You can read more about the different types of clay here
The sponge is small and hard until you soak it in water then it expands and is very soft on your skin while deeply cleansing and gently exfoliating.
Review
The Konjac sponges are advertised as being perfect for removing makeup without having to use cleanser.
I tried this a few times but found it didn't remove my foundation completely so I resorted to using my cleanser then going over my face with the sponge. I have tried to take off my eye make up with it and it looked like I hadn't even tried! My eye make up remained perfectly intact!
So I tried using my usual cleanser with it and bingo! Perfect combination! All my make up was removed and my skin looks and feels so bright and soft. Sometimes my cleanser can make my skin feel a little tight after washing but this sponge makes it feel baby soft.
I will definitely make this part of my skincare routine now and I'm hoping the clay may stop me getting breakouts as my skin does feel more deeply cleansed when using the sponge, I really wouldn't recommend using it without a cleanser as it didn't budge my make up but with a cleanser its fabulous!
