Betrousse Fairy Beauty Box Review

Betrousse Fairy Beauty Box* - I'm not sure why it has fairy in the description but it's packed full of goodies so that's what matters! The contents of the box are worth a whopping £97, the price of the price is £19 plus P&P.
The products arrived well packaged in the usual black Betrousse box with hot pink tissue wrapping and packing wiggles (not sure of the actual name!).  All the products are full size so you can decide whether or not you actually like the product.
Skinetica Anti Blemish 100ml retails for £9.99.
I've read some good reviews on this product, my skin has been behaving recently so I have not been able to try it out. As soon as I get a breakout I'll be seeing if it lives up to the hype!
Saffron London Black Cracking Nail Polish 14ml retails for £0.75.
I have had this in a previous Betrousse box but as the boxes are not subscription based I don't feel that's an issue.  I am not a fan of cracking polishes so I'll pass this on to someone who will use it.
Montagne Jeunesse Dead Sea Mud Spa mask OR Glacial Clay Spa mask, 1 mask and retails for £1.49.
I got the Dead Sea Mud Spa mask, it is a clay infused fabric mask.  I like a good clay mask so I am looking forward to using this, and to it not being too messy as it's a fabric mask.  I always manage to get clay masks all over the bathroom!
Laboratoire LDA-Soins Experts Hydra Expert Cream 50ml retails for £34.00.
This is a day cream for dry skin, my skin is always dry in the colder months so I'm looking forward to using this.
HydraExpert® Cream fights against skin dehydration. High regenerating and anti-oxidant action. Soothing and protective properties.  It contains ceramides, essential fatty acids and Jojoba Oil.

- Ceramides are used to maintain ideal moisture levels in the skin.

- Essential fatty acids including Omega. The lack of Omega 3 is often associated with dry skin. Use of Expert Hydra Cream helps restore the balance Omega 3 / Omega 6, essential for proper tissue development and renewal.

- Jojoba Oil regulates sebum production. It also has protective properties by creating a non-greasy film that preserves natural skin moisturing (against cold and drought).
Forte Pharma UK Turboslim ChronoActiv 28 tablets retail for £29.95.
I'm not sure how I feel about slimming tablets being included in a beauty box! Although again as the box is not subscription based it would be a personal choice to purchase the box and use the tablets.  As I am currently pregnant these are going to be stashed in the cupboard and may be very helpful in shifting some of the baby weight later on in the year.

Charme D'Orient Relaxing Body Massage Cream 100ml OR Bath and Massage Oil "Orient Scents" 150ml, both retail for £16.00.
I received the massage cream, it's quite a thick cream and smells lovely.
Formulated with a base of black seed oil, cinnamon essential oil and capsicum. Ideal for relaxing muscles and for massage.
Tattyoo Betrousse Tattoos £5.00
I'm always unsure of the pricing of products in the beauty boxes of own branded products but as the rest of the contents are worth so much I think we can let this one go ;)
Personally I am a bit old for this product but I have know two girls who would be made up with these so I will share them between them.

Overall another good box from Betrousse, I still like the concept of it not being a subscription based beauty box so you know what you are getting before it arrives.  I also like that all the products are full sized.  You can read more about the contents of this box and purchase it here,  There are more boxes for sale and you can find them here.

Betrousse Pretty Beauty

My Betrousse Pretty Beauty Box* arrived at the weekend, part of the Betrousse concept is that you need to try full size not small samples to be able to decide if you like the product.  WOW I don't think they could have physically fit another thing in the box!
Betrousse boxes are always well packed, the main black box is filled with protective packaging and the black box is then shipped in an outer brown box and sent tracked delivery to make sure that it arrives safely.
The box contains a menu card telling you the brand, product and retail price of each item.
The reverse side of the card tells you a bit more about each product.
Saffron London Black Cracking Polish 75p
I have not heard of this polish brand before, to be honest I am not a great fan of crackle polishes but I'll give it a go and see how it compares to my Barry M crackle.
Papier Poudre Gift Pack of 3 Booklets, each containing 65 sheets £7.95
The booklets come in an outer folder and I love the design! White and Rose will suit my skintone but Rachel will be too dark.  I know a certain blogger who likes these papers though so I will pop it in the post for her to use.
Kesari Radieuse Anti-Age 30ml £47
This is an organic anti wrinkle cream containing extract of saffron flower petals, it claims to reduce surface lines and wrinkles in only 28 days.  It says on the card that if you are less than 30 that it would make an ideal gift for a friend or family member, as I am erm only just over 30 I will be keeping this to see how it fairs against my fine lines!
Cupcake Organic Frankincense & Orange Day Cream 30ml £16
This can either be the cream that I received or a Blue Tansy & Lavender Balancing Day Cream.  I love the name of this company! It is a fragrant flower cream with lemon grass, ginger and vanilla bean to protect and repair dry and mature skin.  As we move into winter my combination skin always has dry patches around my forehead so hopefully this cream will rehydrate them - the joys of working in an air-conditioned office!
Essyta Cosmetics Body Moisturising Lotion for dry skin 250ml £13.50
You will either receive the cream for dry skin or for all skin types.  I am glad I got the dry skin version as my skin does become much drier in the winter. This is a natural organic product and contains shea butter, coconut oil, green tea and sweet almond.
Yves Rocher Organic Refreshing Gel Cleanser 200ml £11
This is a natural product containing organic ingredients, it is a micellar gel cleanser with aloe vera to moisturise.  It is suitable for sensitive eyes.  I am looking forward to trying this product, I have been using a few different micellar cleansing waters but this has a very different consistency and I like that it contains a moisturing ingredient.
Yves Rocher Sexy Pulp Volume Gloss Pink £13.90
I love pink lip products so I can't wait to try this!
It contains sandthorn extract, with its moisturizing and plumping properties, increases the production of collagen in lips by 41% and hyaluronic acid by 67%
Vera Valenti Valetta Eyeshadow Pink £2
This also comes in grey.  Sorry Betrousse but I had a little giggle when I saw this in the box as it is the palette which caused mayhem when another beauty box included it! What I like about Betrousse though is you can see what you are getting before it arrives and from a box crammed with full size products this is the only item that I don't really like, plus when you are paying £19 for a box worth £122 you can't complain that you don't like the £2 item!
Arganti 100% Pure Argan Oil 60ml £10
You can use this on your hair and skin.  I like to use argan oil on my hair so I really like this product too.

I think this is an absolutely fantastic box this month Betrousse! It contains a great range of products and I am looking forward to trying everything (apart from the eyeshadow palette!).

Pretty Beauty costs £19 plus P&P  from Betrousse website and contains items worth a whopping £122. You can also read about the product and brand in more detail on the Betrousse website.

They also have other kits in stock, including

Betrousse Summer Break Box

If you have not yet heard about Betrousse, they are the market leaders in France for their beauty kit concept. They have been established in France for the past five years and entered the UK market about 6 months ago.

This is a beauty box with a difference.  The Betrousse boxes contain ALL full size products plus you can see what is in the boxes before you buy.  They have a  few different boxes on sale at the same time so you can pick which one (or two!) you like the most. You can visit their website here where you can get £3 discount on your first box.

This is my second Betrousse box and you can read my review on Organic and Natural Beauty box here.

This box is "Summer Break" it retails for £19 plus delivery of £5 and the contents are worth a whopping £109! All products that are contained in the box are available for purchase in the UK - I don't like it when beauty boxes put samples in of products you can't actually buy in the UK!

The box is large and is delivered in an outer cardboard box.
Look at all those goodies!
The box contains a double sided card - one side tells you the contents of the box, brand, product, size and price and the other side of the card gives you an introduction to the box and a paragraph detailing each product.
Lilas Blanc, Secret Eclat Jeunesse
50ml and retails at £36.50
Lilas Blanc are the very first luxury organic anti-aging brand in the market. The product is aimed at mature dry skins, I have combination skin so this may not be suitable for my skin type. My skin is a lot drier in the winter so this will be more suitable for me then.
The cream looks quite thick and rich in the pot but it's actually very light and sinks in easily.
Orhis Nourishing Face Cream
50ml and retails for £28
This cream contains 99.1% natural ingredients. Including cottonseed and argan oil. This smells so nice, just like marshmallows! On first impressions I thought the container looked a bit cheap, but actually it is very practical. It's easy to get the cream out and only a small amount is squeezed out so there will be no waste.
Cinq Mondes, Roses Petal Rain Mist
200ml and retails at £28
This is an ancestral eastern cleansing ritual which contains Moroccan rose extracts with softening properties together with an aromatic concentrate of roses.  Spray as a refreshing and moisturising body mist.
Oh this is gorgeous! My favourite product in the box.
Cosmetoo Nails, Nail Art Express Kit
1 pack of pink bow stickers, 1 bag of rhinestones, 1 stick of boxwood - retails at £3.90
Cute little kit!
Benta Berry, G-1 Moisturising Face Cream
30ml and retails at £12
This brand is aimed at younger skin and can be used by both females and males. It is made from 100% natural ingredients.
I am going to try this out as it regulates skins oil levels and as Even though I no longer have young skin (sob) I do have combination skin so my T-zone definitely needs regulation!
This is a little extra!
Coslys shower gel for sensitive skin with organic fig.

Betrousse Organic and Natural Beauty Box Review

Betrousse are the market leaders in France for their beauty kit concept. They have been established in France for the past five years and only entered the UK market about 5 months ago.
Not another beauty box on the market I can imagine you thinking - Hang on! This is a beauty box with a difference.  The Betrousse boxes contain ALL full size products plus you can see what is in the boxes before you buy.  They have a  few different boxes on sale at the same time so you can pick which one (or two!) you like the most with hefty discounts. You can visit their website here where you can get £3 discount on your first box.

This Organic and Natural Beauty Box retails for £17 and the contents are worth a whopping £72 - it contains 5 full size products. The box was sent to me to review - all opinions are my own and truthful!
The box is much bigger than the usual beauty boxes.
Delivery was fast, the box reached me within a few days of being dispatched from France.
Pink tissue paper hiding all the goodies!
5 Full Size Products
A brief description of the products and a welcome to Betrousse
A list of the products, sizes and prices.
Lightly mist hair before combing to reduce breakages. This is 200ml and retails for £10.99.
This smells like fizzy sweets! I have tried it on my hair and it's lovely and light, doesn't leave a greasy residue or weigh my hair down. I just brush it through and it leaves a nice scent. It is over 96% natural, which is very different than all the sprays I currently use!  The aloe vera leaf juice provides hydration so I am looking forward to seeing if this does make a difference to my coloured hair.
Formulated with precious oils to reshape and brighten the eye area and lips it is rich in Omega 3 which firms and tones the skin tissue.  Hemp oils reactivates micro circulation and reduces puffiness and dark circles. Rosehip oil acts as a barrier against fine lines while it revitalizes and evens skin tone. The bottle contains 14ml and retails for £31.00.
This does sound like a miracle oil - I need help with my fine lines, dark circles and puffy eyes so this has its work cut out! It is absorbed quickly into the skin and a little goes a very long way - one drop does both eyes. I haven't yet tried it by my lips, my eyes show far more aging signs so they are getting the oil!
A gorgeous glass bottle that contains 600g of salts and retails at £10.00.
In the box is either bath salts or bath/shower gel. I would personally be happy with either as they always get used up. I love the design on the bottle, it will look lovely in the bathroom. My hubby spotted these as soon as I opened the box and tried to claim them for himself! They smell very scented so you would only need to use a small amount in the bath.
The soap is 150g and retails for £4.99.
It is made with plant oils, enriched with organic olive oil and essential oils. It does not contain parabans, synthetic colouring or animal fats. I love the colours in this soap, it looks handmade. The scent of lavender is strong but not overpowering. I personally love the smell as it reminds me of my Great Nan who always kept lavender soap by the sink. Sadly she is no longer with us but the scent of lavender brings back lots of very happy memories.
This is a product I have never seen before (well apart from other Betrousse reviews I have seen!) hair mascara to cover grey hairs. Although I can remember an incident with hair mascara when I was a lot younger. It was pink. Hmmm.
The mascara contains 15ml and retails for £12.95. Now I do have grey hair starting to come though at the temples, oh the joys of getting older, but I would never have thought to use a hair mascara to cover the regrowth plus I tend to wear my hair down most of the time as it is at the awkward inbetween length.
I tried this out and it does actually cover the regrowth quite well! It took a few minutes to dry then I brushed my hair and you really wouldn't be able to tell. I don't know how well it would cope with rain though! I will keep this for any days that I do wear my hair up and I see the sheen of silver poking through (much better than me reaching for the tweezers!)

I really like seeing what is in the boxes before you buy, the subscription beauty boxes were brilliant to start with but we are seeing a lot of repeat brands, items, differences in box values, items that are unsuitable for skin type etc and I sometimes feel like its a waste of money spent on items that I won't use. Also some of the samples that I have received are too small for me to judge whether or not I like the product, which won't be the case with these full sized products.

I am really pleased with the customer service too, I have had lovely emails and quick replies to my questions about Betrousse. I have seen a few reviews online and it looks like I am not the only one who is loving these new boxes!

They have four boxes for sale at the moment and you can find them on the Betrousse website.

Have you tried a Betrousse box yet? Do you think boxes where you can see the contents before you buy are a good idea?
