Aprils Empties!

Yay its bank holiday weekend! Hope you are all enjoying the sunshine :)

Used up quite a few items this month, I am putting £1 for every full size item and 50p for every sample size item in my money box.  I started in March and have £9.50 so far.

Full size Rituals foaming shower gel in Zensation - organic rice milk & cherry blossom, I love the Rituals foaming gels and this is my favourite scent.  Will absolutely definitely be repurchasing (once I use up the other three bottles I have!)

Full size Balance Me super moisturising body wash - this left my skin lovely and soft but I really don't like the smell it has patchouli in and the scent is very heavy.  I got this in one of my Carmine boxes, I wouldn't repurchase it in this scent but I have one in Rose Otto and that smells much nicer, like turkish delight!

Sample size Molton Brown Heavenly Gingerlily bath and shower gel.  I got this in my Harrods Glossybox and I love it! A little goes a long way and the smell is divine.

So thats £2.50 into the pot.

Sample size Decleor Phytopeel, natural exfoliating cream.  I received this in my last Feel Unique box, I really like this product.  You spread it over your face wait for it to dry then rub it off! It leaves my skin super soft.  The full size retails at around £25 so its not cheap, but my skin looks much better after using it and I have a few on the shelf that I have received in swaps so don't have to splash the cash just yet!

Two sample size FAB cleansers - my skin loves these cleansers which means I do too! I have a stash of these that I have received in swaps, I am down to my last three tubes now and will be purchasing the full size when I'm down to my last tube.

Full size Soap & Glory scrub your nose in it - I love the smell of this, I leave it on for a few minutes as a face mask and it leaves my skin lovely and soft.

That's another £2.50 in the pot.

Sample size Soap & Glory flake away - this smells good enough to eat! I think this is my favourite body exfoliator.

Sample size Dead Sea Spa Magik silky smooth body lotion - I received this in one of my beauty boxes, I use it on my shins and it doesn't irritate them.

£1 in the pot.

Sample size Lulu Timebomb flashback night cream - I received this in one of my Carmine boxes. Its quite light for a night cream which I quite like, it doesn't irritate or clog my sensitive skin. I was actually quite surprised by how much I like this product!

Sample size Yon-Ka Anti-Pollution Vital Defense cream - I received this in my December Joliebox, its a very small sample which makes it hard to judge whether or not you like a product.

Sample size Sisley Sisleya global anti-age cream - Received this in a Latest in Beauty box, a little goes a long way which is good as the full size product retails at a whopping £260 for 50ml! I liked it but I didn't like it £260 worth!

Thats £1.50 in the pot.

I wouldn't normally include toothpaste in my empties, but I got these in my Carmine box.  I have used this brand before and I wasn't too impressed with the whitening power BUT these toothpastes are brilliant, my teeth were much whiter after using and I'll be buying the full size.

Another £1 in the pot.

Sample size Ginvera green tea BB cream - I got this in a Latest in Beauty Little box. I have tried a few BB creams and not been too impressed with the coverage, but I like this one! The smell is awful but the coverage and colour is really good.  Its probably just a touch too dark for my pale skin but would be fine in summer.

50p in the pot.

Full size Prada Candy - My lovely hubby got me this for Christmas after I loved the sample in my first ever Feel Unique box.

Sample size Thierry Mugler Womanity - love the tester packaging!

Sample size Yardley Peony - got this in a Carmine box, its actually really nice a lovely spring scent

Sample size CK Euphoria

Sample size CK Shock

Another £3.00 in the pot.

Thats £12 in the pot for April.  Must moisturise more in May!

Joliebox March 2012

Wow, what a gorgeous sunny day! Love springtime! Hope you are all enjoying your weekend.

My postie delivered my March Joliebox yesterday and I only got around to opening it late last night. I'd read a few spoilers online and wasn't sure what to think....

The box is quite small, I took a pic next to my Harrods Glossybox and you can see the difference.  The goodies came in a little Joliebox bag instead of the shredded paper that is in all the other boxes.

These are the goodies that were inside...

The box is themed as "Put a Spring in your Step", on the reverse of the card is the menu of products.  All the products in this months box are full size.

First up, Yardley Luxury Body Wash 200ml in Peony.  Right, while I really wouldn't class this as a luxury body wash I am happy with the scent I got.  I received a sample of the Peony perfume in one of the other beauty boxes and I actually quite liked it, so I really like the smell of this.  It is very flowery and certainly fits the Spring theme.  This retails at £3.50 on the Yardley website.

Next up Davines Authentic Moisturising Balm 75ml.  This is a multi-tasking balm - you can use it on your face, body and hair.  Its more of a cream like texture than a balm, it smells quite herbally and to be honest its a bit overpowering for me.  After I took the photo of the balm I rubbed it into my hand and it was lovely - made my skin nice and soft and the smell disappeared after a short while.  It wasn't until I read the instructions on the back of the tube that I realised I had to wash it off! I think this fits into the Spring theme as its an all natural product.  Some people received this exact product in a previous Glossybox, I didn't and I'm glad I've got my mitts on it to try it out.  I couldn't find a UK Davines website, but I found it for £9.99 on this website

The third product is a skinny eyeliner from Eyeko.  I got it in Midnight Blue, its a nice soft eyeliner and again I'm pleased with this product - although we recently got a fat eyeko pencil in Carmine and the skinny pencil in Glossybox.  I was lucky getting this shade as I already have it in pale pink, plum and emerald green.  Not sure what a dark eyeliner has to do with spring? This retails at £9.50 on Eyeko website.

The fourth and final full size product in the box is a nail varnish from LCN.  This is not a brand I have heard of before. It doesn't say what colour it is on the bottle, It looks like a very pale pastel blue in the bottle with a bluey green iridescent sheen. I wouldn't have picked this colour up myself, but its pretty and a bit different, the pastel shade is lovely for spring.  It retails for £5.50 on this website

Two Coats                                                        Three Coats

The mirror is a bonus item and will be great for shoving in one of my many handbags!

So, the verdict. Again I think this months box is a slow burner.  I will use all the products and I like all the variations I got in terms of colour. I think its just a shame that the same brands and even the same products are being repeated in the beauty boxes.  The whole point is to try something new.

I love, love, loved last months Joliebox as it was all items that I had never seen in other boxes or tried before.  I thought Joliebox was meant to be more high end and have more niche products than other boxes, unfortunatly I don't think this month thats the case. Lets see what we pull out of the (Jolie) box next month!
