Nuxe Bargains!

If you are a regular reader of my blog you will know by now that I love a good bargain!

When Grace from All That Slap told us about this offer on Nuxe website I couldn't resist placing an order.  SUMMERSALES gives you 30% off and free delivery, you also get an additional 10% off if it is your first order.  Plus buy any two products and get a free beauty kit!  You also get free sachet samples and a free deluxe sample of your choice.
My order arrived very quickly via Royal Mail tracked delivery and was well packaged.
This is the first item I ordered, a travel kit of essential Nuxr items.  The kit contains;
Miceller Cleansing Water 35ml
Nuxellence Jeunesse 15ml
Huile Prodigieuse 10ml
Reve de Miel Hand and Nail Cream 15ml
Nuxe Body Fondant Shower Gel 30ml
all packaged in a reusable bag.

The kit retails for £9.90 (before any discount) and I thought it was a very good way to try out a few Nuxe products before buying full size.  As it was my first order the kit was an absolute bargain at £5.94.
The second item I ordered was Reve de Miel Face Cleansing and Make-Up Removing Gel.

I ordered this full size 200ml product after reading a lot of positive reviews.  It smells of honey which I love so I am looking forward to trying this out.

This retails for £12.00 so cost me £7.20 after the discount was applied.
Then these were the freebies!

My Beauty Kit - Micellar Cleansing Water 35ml, Anti-Fatigue Moisturising Cream 15ml, 24hr Moisturising Body Lotion 15ml

Sachet Samples - Huile Prodigieuse 4ml, Fondant Cleansing Gel 4ml, 24hr Soothing and Moisturising Concentrate 2ml

Deluxe Sample - Fondant Body Scrub 15ml

In total this order cost me £13.14! An absolute bargain and I am looking forward to trying all these new products.

Are you tempted to make an order?

Instyle Magazine illamasqua Freebies!

In August the lovely Grace over at All That Slap posted a link on Twitter to a great magazine freebie deal - sign up to Instyle magazine for 6 months at a cost of £7.49 and get some free Illamasqua goodies!

Such an absolute bargain that I signed up straight away, the money was taken from my bank account at the end of August and the Illamasqua goodies arrived this week.  My first magazine is the November edition which will arrive in October.
Nail Varnish, Liquid Metal and Intense Lipgloss
The Nail Varnish is in the shade Lament
I painted my nails with this on Saturday and took this picture today so you can see how well it stays on with no chips! This is No7 base coat, 2 coats of Lament and Seche Vite topcoat.
The varnish applies nicely and the colour is gorgeous!
Intense Lipgloss in Femme
Liquid Metal in Electrum
Swatches of Femme and Electrum

The gloss is a beautiful pinky red that looks like a true red on my lips, I have been wearing it around the house when I come home from work! It lasts for a couple of hours before it needs to be reapplied.  The gloss can be applied lightly for a sheer finish or built up for more intense colour.  This is the first Illamasqua lipgloss I have tried and I absolutely love it and will be buying more!

Electrum is a beautiful antique gold shade when I swatch it on my hand but when I apply it to my eyes it seems to have a green tone to it which is really not flattering.  I think I need to play around with this a bit more to find a more flattering way to wear it, maybe a smoky eye and a touch of Electrum in the inner corners of my eye? Suggestions welcome!

The nail varnish retails for £14.50
The lipgloss retails for £14.50
The liquid metal retails for £17.50

What a bargain!! Thank you Grace :)

On a separate note, now that the dark nights are drawing in can anyone recommend a cheap but effective lightbox as my pics are looking a bit dark!

Origins - Earth Day

On Saturday 21st April Origins were running a in-store promotion entitled - Visit Origins to Recycle the Earth.  This was to honour Earth Day which this year was on 22nd April.

Earth Day is a campaign where the global community comes together to take steps towards protecting and preserving the Earth.  You can read all about Earth Day on their website - its a very interesting read.

For the Origins promotion I had to take in an empty cosmetic container/tube/pot etc and in return you got a good sample size (50ml) in return.

I got to my local Boots just before 9am and there was already a little queue at the Origins counter!

I filled in a card with some personal details and what kind of skincare I was looking for, popped my empty tub of Olay night cream in the recycling bin and the lovely lady gave me my sample of A Perfect World moisturizer.

This is what it says on the Origins website:

This lightweight moisturiser contains world-famous Silver Tip White Tea, Vitamins C and E plus French Maritime Pine and UVA / UVB sunscreens.
Designed for everyday use, this oil-free moisturiser builds an invisible bubble of protection around skin to help minimise the appearance of damage including lines, wrinkles and age spots.
Helps delay the appearance of premature signs of aging. So you can enjoy your youth. Today and tomorrow.
Sunscreens including Octisalate, Avobenzone and Octocrylene provide esstential broad spectrum UVA and UVB protection.

Oh just realised that 50ml is full sized! It retails at £32.00 on their website!

This is a nice lightweight moisturiser and will be perfect for the daytime.

She also booked me in for a free facial so I'll be going back on 4th May for a bit of pampering.

Ojon Review

Morning all!

On Monday Ojon UK's Facebook page ran a fantastic offer:

BUY 1. GET 2 FREE! Exclusive Facebook Fan Offer.
As a ‘Thank You’ to our loyal fans for your support, enjoy an exclusive Facebook treat! Get a FREE* full size set of damage reverse™ Restorative Shampoo & Conditioner 250ml with any purchase Ojon.co.uk.

I really wanted to try the Ojon hair serum that some people received in the Harrods Glossybox, so having received both my Harrods boxes and no Ojon I quickly snapped up the offer (it was so popular they sold in a couple of hours!) and purchased the 25ml Instant Restorative Hair Serum for £16.00.

They had an offer running at the same time for free delivery and two free samples!

They delivered super fast and my box of goodies arrived on Thursday!

Paid full price £16 for the serum

The two samples that I received are Damage Reverse Restorative Hair Treatment and Hair Treatment Plus they are 8ml but I think they would last for a couple of treatments as you only need between 1 to 1.5 teaspoons and because I have a short bob I will be able to get away with the 1 teaspoon - they both retail at £32.50 for 100ml making the samples worth £5.20

These are the 250ml bottles of Damage Reverse Restorative shampoo and conditioner that I received in the offer! Shampoo retails at £20.00 and the conditioner for £21.50!

£41.50 for shampoo and conditioner!!! I am looking forward to what miracles these can perform on my coloured, fine frizzy heat damaged hair.......and for £41.50 it really would need to perform miracles for me to repurchase!

Review

So I washed my hair yesterday with the shampoo and conditioner:

The shampoo lathered slightly but not too much, good sign the shampoos that lather too much dry out my hair and make it frizz! Washed it out, was easy to rinse, no tangles - still looking good. It has a strange smell, not unpleasant but not perfumed, it smells quite earthy and herbally.

The conditioner has a nice thick consistency, again the same smell (a little stronger than the shampoo) applied well, rinsed out easily and I could feel that my hair felt nice and conditioned.

Used a few drops of the hair serum before heat styling, its quite runny but I literally did only need 2 drops and now for the ultimate test - the hairdryer!

So blasted my hair with the hairdryer, waiting for the frizz to start to appear - turned on the GHDs to get them ready to work their magic......and I couldn't believe it, no frizz! Straight, shiny, sleek, swishy amazing hair! and I didn't even have to use my straighteners - this is unheard of.

I honestly could not believe the results, I did try and get a photo of my hair - how hard is it to get a picture of your own hair?! Must practise...

The only negative point I thought was that because my hair felt so lovely and non frizzy that it might mean I would have to wash it everyday, I wash my hair every other day and at £41.50 do not want to change to everyday, but have woken up this morning to straight, shiny, swishy amazing hair.

Now you know I said it would have to perform miracles for me to every re-purchase - well I will absolutely, most definitely be re-purchasing.  I am a complete Ojon convert and as a bargain lover (I hardly ever pay full price for anything) this must have been a serious miracle!

Have you tried Ojon products? Did you manage to snap up this amazing offer? Oh, and how do I take pics of my hair?

April Glamour - Freebies

With the April edition of Glamour magazine they are including a free gift from Percy & Reed.  There are four to choose from - Moisturising Shampoo, Moisturising Conditioner, Hydrating Mask and Finishing Polish. The full set is worth a whopping £43!

I can never resist a good freebie so I popped into Tesco to pick up a couple of the magazines, and was made up to find that as well as having the full set of items, Glamour magazine is also included in their offer of "buy two magazines get £1 off" so I bought four copies for a cheap as chips £6! Now I would probably would have bought the magazine anyway sooooo technically it works out at £1 per item!

They list gorgeous ingredients such as blueberry extract, sweet almond milk, grape seed oil, aloe vera gel, marshmallow, coconut oil, horse chestnut and sunflower wax!

Plus how cute is the packaging!

You can see more from their range on their website http://www.percyandreed.com/product/range
