You Beauty Discovery Box - Party Prep

The You Beauty Discovery Box for December is themed around Party Prep.  I have had a box every month now since it launched in September and I have really liked every box.  They are an absolute bargain for £6.95 inc delivery.  It is the only beauty box that I sub to now.

The way the boxes work is that on the 1st of the month the new choices are released, you pick two of the choices and You Beauty add in a couple of extras which are the same for everyone.  You can read more about it and get yourself a box here.
The boxes are sent via courier and are dispatched quickly once you have selected your items.

You can see all the choices for the December box here.
My first choice actually consisted of two Awapuhi Wild Ginger products:
Hydrocream Whip 70ml - 200ml retails for £19.99 here making the sample worth £7.00
Hydromist Blow-Out Spray 25ml - 150ml is £17.95 here making the sample worth £3.00
My second choice was a full size, 15ml, Dr Nick Lowe Age Correct Eye Serum, this retails for £19.00 here.
The two items that everyone gets are 2ml Jimmy Choo Flash Perfume and a mini Green & Blacks chocolate bar!

Have you got this box?  I think it would make a fantastic Christmas present for someone!

So Susan Lacquerlove Launch Box

So Susan have launched a monthly subscription box called Lacquerlove, it is priced at £14.95 plus P&P.  The box will contain 4 full size products, 3 of the products will be nail polishes.

You will be able to preview the box before buying so no nasty surprises! You can read more about the boxes here.
The box is nice and sturdy and has a magnetic fastening.
There are four full size 9ml polishes in the launch box*, each comes in its own individual box.
The polishes have numbers on the bottles rather than names, the names are on the boxes though.  This could be confusing!
Mimosa - 12 is a pale pink which is quite sheer
Raspberry - 17 is a glossy red
Pink Guava - 21 is a bright pink (my favourite!)
Silver Clouds - 26 is a grey/lilac with a subtle shimmer running through, very pretty

I have tried number 17, two coats is virtually opaque but I would probably go for three coats next time as I can see a bit of my nail line.  The polish dries very quickly.

The polishes do not contain DBP (Dibutyl Phthalate), Toluene, Formaldehyde or Formaldehyde Resin.  They do not contain parabens, sulfates, mineral oils, tricolsan, animal by products or phthalates.  They are also cruelty free.

The polishes contain Rosehip fruit oil to moisturise and strengthen your nails and the delicate skin around it.

You can buy the launch box here.

*The launch box was kindly sent to me to review.

You Beauty Discovery Box - Handbag Heroes

The October You Beauty Discovery Box is based on Handbag Heroes!

This is the second box they have released, you can read my review on the September box here.  The October choices were released right at the beginning of the month and shipping is fast, my box arrived today via courier.
The box contains a small magazine with details about all the products for the month, plus beauty articles.
The concept of the box is that you choose two items from a selection and they include a couple of items that are the same in all the boxes.
These are the items that are in all the boxes this month -

Full size Nakd bar - I got Berry Delight.  The bars contain only raw fruit and nuts, no sugar or nasties.  I have tried a few of these bars and they are absolutely delicious, they are very filling too as they are quite dense.  I hadn't tried this flavour before and it is yummy!

These are the ingredients Raw Dates 49%, Raw Cashews 31%, Raw Raisins 17%, Raw Raspberries 3%, a Hint of Natural Berry Flavour.  They retail for 75p here.

A handbag mirror - these are always useful for putting in your bag, I'm forever losing mirrors and tweezers!

This is the first item that I choose.  A compact tangle teezer, this retails for £12.25 here.

I really like this! I was a bit worried about it being "compact" but it actually fits perfectly into my palm.  This is definitely a handbag hero!
This is the second item I choose Noble Isle Bath and Shower gel in Willow Song 75ml.  250ml retails for £20.00 here, making the travel size worth £6.00.

An unreservedly romantic fragrance, remindful of floaty green florals and mellow woods, enriched with extracts of willow bark and water lily, known for their soothing properties.

Fragrance Notes
Top notes: Rose Petal, Ivy
Heart notes: Watermelon, Lily of the Valley
Base notes: Cedarwood, Musk

I have an obsession with shower gels at the moment and this smells so lovely!

I'm delighted with this box, I feel the contents really fit in with the theme of the box and it is fantastic value at only £6.95 delivered!

You can find out more about the company and subscribe to the box here.

Beauteco Box Review

Beauteco is a new beauty box with a twist, instead of it being a box full of surprises like other monthly boxes you choose from a menu of three different boxes.  The main products seem to be the same in the three boxes with slight variations on the other items.

I signed up in July for this box, the box costs £10 plus P&P.
Beauteco doesn't come in it's own box or bag like other beauty boxes but makes use of the packaging which I think is a good idea as I was building up a large stash of empty boxes (the house fire did take care of this problem though!).
As you can see the box was packed full!

Unfortunately I had a bit of a problem with my box (hence the late post) I chose the box that contained a full size Art Deco liner but I was sent a product from one of the other box choices - a full size Art Deco clear lash and brow gel.

I ordered the box on a Tuesday, got a dispatch notice on the Wednesday and then an email on the Thursday saying that the liner was out of stock so as they thought I wouldn't want to wait they sent me out the box with the replacement product and as an apology they added the two sample sachets and the sample of the moa balm.

I replied saying I would have been happy to wait until they had a restock, which was only the following week and that I would have preferred to have been asked before they posted out the box.  They replied that they would send me out a liner the following week once they came back into stock, but it's a month later and I am still waiting....

I feel that if the selling point is that you choose and pay for the box that you want from the three options then this is what you should receive, or they should state that they have sold out/there is a wait for the option you have picked.

Anyway, on to the contents!

It contains 4 full size and 1 sample size (ignoring the moa and sachets)

Neal and Wolfe Evelate Full Size 200ml, retails for £11.95 on their website
Neal and Wolfe Harmony Full Size 200ml, retails for £12.95 on their website
Art Deco Clear Lash and Brow Gel Full Size 10ml, retails for £9.75 here
Art Deco Shadow Base Full Size 5ml, retails for £8.00 here
Pukka Radiance Serum Sample Size 10ml, 50ml retails for £32.00 here making the sample worth £6.40.

The whole box is worth a whopping £49.05!

I am looking forward to trying everything in the box, even the lash and brow gel ;)

Betrousse Summer Break Box

If you have not yet heard about Betrousse, they are the market leaders in France for their beauty kit concept. They have been established in France for the past five years and entered the UK market about 6 months ago.

This is a beauty box with a difference.  The Betrousse boxes contain ALL full size products plus you can see what is in the boxes before you buy.  They have a  few different boxes on sale at the same time so you can pick which one (or two!) you like the most. You can visit their website here where you can get £3 discount on your first box.

This is my second Betrousse box and you can read my review on Organic and Natural Beauty box here.

This box is "Summer Break" it retails for £19 plus delivery of £5 and the contents are worth a whopping £109! All products that are contained in the box are available for purchase in the UK - I don't like it when beauty boxes put samples in of products you can't actually buy in the UK!

The box is large and is delivered in an outer cardboard box.
Look at all those goodies!
The box contains a double sided card - one side tells you the contents of the box, brand, product, size and price and the other side of the card gives you an introduction to the box and a paragraph detailing each product.
Lilas Blanc, Secret Eclat Jeunesse
50ml and retails at £36.50
Lilas Blanc are the very first luxury organic anti-aging brand in the market. The product is aimed at mature dry skins, I have combination skin so this may not be suitable for my skin type. My skin is a lot drier in the winter so this will be more suitable for me then.
The cream looks quite thick and rich in the pot but it's actually very light and sinks in easily.
Orhis Nourishing Face Cream
50ml and retails for £28
This cream contains 99.1% natural ingredients. Including cottonseed and argan oil. This smells so nice, just like marshmallows! On first impressions I thought the container looked a bit cheap, but actually it is very practical. It's easy to get the cream out and only a small amount is squeezed out so there will be no waste.
Cinq Mondes, Roses Petal Rain Mist
200ml and retails at £28
This is an ancestral eastern cleansing ritual which contains Moroccan rose extracts with softening properties together with an aromatic concentrate of roses.  Spray as a refreshing and moisturising body mist.
Oh this is gorgeous! My favourite product in the box.
Cosmetoo Nails, Nail Art Express Kit
1 pack of pink bow stickers, 1 bag of rhinestones, 1 stick of boxwood - retails at £3.90
Cute little kit!
Benta Berry, G-1 Moisturising Face Cream
30ml and retails at £12
This brand is aimed at younger skin and can be used by both females and males. It is made from 100% natural ingredients.
I am going to try this out as it regulates skins oil levels and as Even though I no longer have young skin (sob) I do have combination skin so my T-zone definitely needs regulation!
This is a little extra!
Coslys shower gel for sensitive skin with organic fig.
