When Mez from Mez Made Up posted the details of this limited edition beauty box from British Beauty Blogger I knew I had to get my mitts on one!

The box cost £15.00 plus postage & packing, which is an absolute bargain.  There was a limited quantity of 500 boxes which sold out within hours.
I have not been excited about a beauty box for a long, long time and this has to be the best box EVER!  Look at all those fabulous beauty goodies.
The box also contained a leaflet with an explanation of each product, along with some discount codes, promotional leaflets and a sachet of Lanolips.

I received my box last Saturday and as I was going through the contents I realised I was missing the Bioeffect Serum.  I emailed the customer service address on Saturday afternoon not expecting a response until Monday but I got one later on the Saturday afternoon! They sent me the serum and I got it on Thursday.  Can't fault the customer service one bit!

I am so excited to try all the items in the box, there is nothing that I won't try and I can't remember the last time I got a beauty box where I was happy with all the contents!

Jane has said she will be doing a box for Christmas and I will definitely be getting one, I can't wait to see whats in it!

Did you manage to get one of these boxes?

Clothes Show 2012 Platinum Goody Bag

So I'm going to start by doing something that I don't really like to see on other blogs! That is apologising for not posting for a while. My poor little blog has been well and truly neglected over the past few weeks so thanks for still following me and hopefully normal service will be resumed now! It's my busiest time of year in work, the lighting is terrible before and after work for photo taking, all the preparations for Christmas take up a lot of time and I've been busy with something else that I can hopefully tell you about next weekend! Not excuses but valid reasons I hope!

Anyway, yesterday I went to the Clothes Show for the very first time.  I went with my best friend Vicki and Caroline from Musings of a Beauty Addict Mum.  We had platinum tickets and had seats for the first show of the day at 10am so it was a very early start from North Wales for myself and Vicki.  We picked Caroline up on the way who kindly supplied me with a much needed coffee.  We arrived at the NEC in perfect time, the car park fee of £10 seemed very steep to me though!
We had brilliant seats a few rows from the front.
Perfect view!
Lots of scene changes and dancing
The pics were taken on my iphone so don't want to put loads on my blog as the picture quality is not that good.
As we had platinum tickets we got goody bags, which were made up of
a show guide - which includes maps of where the stalls are, demonstration show times etc.
a lanyard and a wristband.  The wristband could be shown at a few select stalls to get discount of 5-10%
These are the contents of the goody bag.
There was also a bounty but I ate that watching the fashion show!
I was a bit disappointed with the goody bag, especially as that was part of the reason that we bought platinum tickets.
On the way out they were giving out free goody bags that contained the same as the platinum bags (without the showguide, lanyard and wristband).  As we had platinum tickets we got an extra 2 bags (!!) so we ended up with three bags with identical contents!
One of the demonstrations of the day was by Rachel Wood, Benefit make-up artist.
Vicki shot her hand up for a make over and was picked to go up on stage and have her makeup done by Rachel.  She got a goody bag with a full size Sunbeam and They're Real mascara.
I got these Elemis wipes worth £6 for free as I signed up to the Elemis mailing list.
My purchase of the day!
Leather studded River Island gloves for £10, these are still on sale instore and online for £30.

I bought a few goody bags too but I will post about them separately otherwise this will be a massive blog post!

I had a lovely girly day out, it was quite different than I thought it would be though.  A lot of the clothes stalls had the same clothes on and I didn't see anything that caught my eye really.  The beauty hall was good but was missing stalls from some of the brands I would have liked to see such as Benefit, Illamasqua, MUA etc.

Did you go this year, what did you think?

Aprils Beauty Budget Challenge - Week 2

Hi All,

Sorry this is a little late but I had a super busy weekend - we went to see a musical show called Remembering Michael which was a celebration of Michael Jacksons music and life, it was amazing I didn't want it to end.  Then we spent the day at the Gadget Show Live in Birmingham, which my inner geek loved!

This is how I got on this week.  I had £3.58 left over from Week 1 meaning I started the week with £13.58.

I spent £9.48 on postage for swaps through the FB page Beauty Box Swaps. These are all the fab items I got! Did well this week, did't I!

Looking forward to trying both these products, I have the Real Techniques stippling brush and I love it so was excited to get the powder brush.

I need a new bronzer and this Bourjois one in light is great for my pale skin.  I have swatched the cheek activator but its a bit too dark for me.

OPI's in Meet Me on the StarFerry and Jade is the new Black.

I have this VIVO baked palette in Divine and did a review here, I love the colours and the blusher is gorgeous.  The palette that I received in my swaps is Paparazzi.

I have listed lots of items on eBay to try and make some extra money - in week 2 I made £30 and I bought....

A large pink cosmetics case from Argos to store all my nail polishes in, this cost me £27.99

Katy Perry Mini Opi Set for £7.00 from eBay - bargain! I was concerned these might have been fakes, but they are genuine and I absolutely love them.

Texas Lil Shooters Mini OPI set for £8.50 from eBay, pleased with these too - can't wait to try the shimmery turquoise shade.

I got this OPI mask from the lovely Susan over on the Beauty Box Swaps page, she sent it to me for being the first person to comment on her swap post! Its gorgeous, it smells like holidays :)

I got this amazing necklace from Wendy, she is the lovely lady who I did the Easter Box Swaps with.  She forgot to put this in the box and so sent it separately.  I love it! I'm a complete bookworm and this is just such a thoughtful present.

So lets tot it up.....Funds in (£13.58 + £30) £43.58, Funds Out (£9.48 + £27.99 + £7 + £8.50) £52.97 = Yikes went over by £9.39!!

So for Week 3 I have 61p!
Erm.... I better get listing some more stuff on eBay!

I did actually spend quite a lot of money this week, but its not clothes, make up or beauty items....it was tickets to go and see Lady Gaga in Manchester in September.  She is my favourite artist and I tried for four hours to get tickets, couldn't believe it when I got them! WOOOOOOHOOOOOO!
