Last week I signed up to a company called Hello Fresh - they deliver fresh ingredients to your door along with detailed recipe cards to enable you to cook lovely meals at home.
You can read all about their service on their website.
I signed up for a four person box as there are two adults and one child in our household, but if the portion sizes are as generous as the meal I cooked tonight then we will only need the two person box! We decided on the five meal box, but there is also a three meal option and a vegetarian option.
My first box was supposed to be delivered last Tuesday - I was eagerly awaiting delivery but unfortunately the box got damaged in transit and we had to refuse delivery. I emailed customer services and they were very apologetic, I had nice replies to my complaint and even a phone call from Ryan who had been dealing with my complaint to make sure that I was happy with the outcome.
I do like to cook but I am not very good at thinking up recipes and I absolutely hate food shopping, so the idea of combining a food delivery with recipe cards gets a thumbs up from me!
So today I got my first box and I am going to share with you my attempts at cooking the meals, how easy the recipe was to follow and what we thought of the outcome...
We choose Ozone Prawn and Prosciutto Linguine as we were late eating dinner this evening and the recipe card said it takes 15 minutes to cook.
The card is double sided, it tells you where the recipe comes from and the ingredients along with nice clear pictures.
On the back of the card is step by step instructions with photos of the cooking process - I do appreciate the "Save water, drink wine" pic and yeah I did pour a glass!
All the ingredients are in the correct weight and quantities for the recipe.
The only thing I had to add was olive oil and seasoning.
This is a 2 person portion
Ta-dah!

Wow! This was so easy to make and tasted absolutely delicious. The ingredients were beautifully fresh, the prawns were so tasty.
The recipe card is well laid out and the instructions are easy to follow.
The timing on the card was correct and dinner was ready in 15 minutes.
The portions were generous, Hubby and I couldn't finish our meals.
